Nikko, Japan

Saturday

The Imperial Hotel, 1404 Tokyo

It is a good excuse to take a train from Asakusa, Tokyo's old quarter, to the north, to make a day trip to the popular mountain city Nikko, and to escape from Tokyo in 2 hours. The most beautiful colours of nature, especially in spring and autumn, are easily observed in the mountains of Nikko.

The Kegon Waterfall and the last great samurai’s shrine and the temples around it were the largest, the most ornate of what we have seen in Japan. The monkeys, who do not see, hear or speak, were first used in this shrine here.

After visiting these places, you can easily catch up with Tokyo evenings. We visited the streets in the Shinjuku neighbourhood adorned with neon signs. The urge to travel and to photograph what I see comes from my love for our planet and what it offers us. However, man always manages to make all my excitement, my hyper-sensitive soul and my heart shatter. Yesterday , the massacre of innocent people in the New Zealand mosque, especially children, reminded me of this again. Especially in recent years, it is a great effort to continue devotion to survive. Just for my kids. The only thing that gives me power is my children at this point. Growing hatred, racism and intolerance are increasingly frightening me. The lies against Michael... God we need you. We need the wind of beauty, righteousness, reality, love, which will move the wave in the right direction.
