Royal Wedding fever swept the UK in April and the glorious weather couldn’t have arrived at a better time.
Visiting the residence of the Queen during this period was just a bonus.
Windsor is not only about the castle but also about the cute, charming town as well. It is a picture perfect postcard town; something out of a fairytale.
The castle, whilst the entrance fee is ridiculously over priced, is very well maintained and the exterior is reminiscent of Rhodes architecture.
Thankfully, the tickets can be reused within 12 months.
The gardens of the palace are incredibly well-maintained.
Indoors also it is hard to believe that this is an old palace as everything looks so new. Mary’s doll house and toys are certainly worth a visit.
You may even get lucky and see the Queen as we did. She was driving her Rover. She parked just outside the private quarters and got out of the car with Prince Philip and her two dogs. With her white hair, green cardigan and brown skirt, she looked exactly like my grandmother.
